Mid-Autumn Jiaozi

Mallary's Handmade Jiaozi

We started with mounds of homemade dough
Molded it into balls, flattened into circles (see video), and fill with meat and veggies, then seal

Boiled jiaozi--Ready to eat!

For the Mid-Autumn Festival, students have a few days off of class to spend with their families.  We stayed on campus and spent time with some students who were unable to go home.  I (Mallary) learned how to make jiaozi with a group of university students.  The students kept correcting my inexperienced jiaozi-making and perfecting my technique.  We laughed a lot and by the end of the afternoon, I was covered in flour!
