Thailand: See What We Saw

Most of our time in Thailand was spent at our organization's conference (which was great. . .more details coming in your March newsletter!), but we did do a little sightseeing around Chiang Mai. Check out our random assortment of photos below:

  3. some friends from our fellowship here in Baltimore just visited some family members who are serving in Chiang Mai and got to see elephants too! they (the elephants!) were kicking soccer balls, painting pictures, and giving rides. it was neat to see you got to touch a baby one. how cool!
and wow! that giraffe tongue was LONG! and the hippopotamuses' mouths were HUGE. i remember my parents saying in Africa that one of the most dangerous wild animals was a hippo, and they had numerous patients come to the hospital with serious wounds from hippos they had gotten too close to while trying to get water or something--those jaws look powerful!
were you feeding them carrots? i thought that's what it was, but then i wasn't sure and thought maybe it was papaya.
very cool to see the photos of what you guys got to see and get to participate along with you a bit.
